With her distinctly Parisian approach—both light of hand and of heart—she’s amassed a cult following (she’s so popular, she goes solely by her first name), has built a highly successful eponymous brand and was tapped by Guerlain to become its creative director of makeup.
Part of her gig at the storied beauty house is helping develop new products, such as the brand’s latest (and highly anticipated) launch: Terracotta Le Teint, a foundation inspired by Guerlain’s famed Terracotta, the world’s first-ever bronzing powder.

“There are so many foundations on the market now that if we launch one, it has to be very different—it has to be perfect,” says Serrat. Historically, the pro hasn’t been a huge proponent of foundation, preferring a more bare complexion. “So when [the Guerlain team] asked me to work on this, I was like, ‘Do you know my dislike of foundation?’ [Laughs] And they said, ‘Yeah, that’s why we really want you to take this on and make the foundation that would be most aligned with what you like.’ So it was a really fun project and today it’s here and I’m super proud of it.” Read More…
