Admission to the high school has begun
The Ministry of Education has announced the start of the high school admission process for 2024, with the computerized distribution of students set for July 24. Parents and students are encouraged to compile a list of desired specializations in order of preference and to carefully verify the related codes. It is also recommended to include a sufficient number of options to ensure students are assigned to a school.
The Ministry has published a Guide for High School Admission 2024 on its website. This document provides recommendations for parents and students, emphasizing the importance of careful selection of specializations and ensuring a wide range of options to avoid remaining unassigned. It also details the process for completing the options on registration forms.
Key dates from the admission calendar are as follows:
- July 10: Publication of the candidate hierarchy.
- July 11-22: Completion of registration forms with selected options, in collaboration with parents and leading teachers.
- July 24: Computerized distribution of students.
For students who remain unassigned after the first round, a second session of computerized assignment will begin on August 2.
The Ministry also released the final results of the National Assessment, revealing that 27,640 appeals were submitted, representing 8.76% of the total number of works. After reevaluating the contested papers, the percentage of students with averages greater than or equal to 5 (five) increased to 74.5% (113,911 students), up by 0.1% (203 students) compared to the initial results of 74.4%. In 2023, the rate of averages greater than or equal to 5 was 76.4%. Additionally, the number of students with a perfect general average of 10 rose from 65 to 74 after the appeals.
