Apple Store is EVACUATED after an iPad battery 'overheats' and customers suffer breathing difficulties

An Apple Store in Amsterdam has been evacuated after three people suffered breathing problems thought to be brought on by gases from an overheating iPad battery.
According to Dutch news outlets , the fire department was called to the Apple Store at Leidseplein in Amsterdam yesterday.
The reports said that three people "suffered from their airways, possibly due to vapours from a leaking battery".
The three people who were victims of the airways issues were allegedly Apple employees.
The reports say that the employees immediately put the iPad in a bin with sand.
The fire team that arrived on site cleared out the building and advised that it be properly ventilated immediatly.
Appointments at the Genius Bar were cancelled while the building was being aired.
There was no evidence that the battery exploded as fragments were not reported. Only vapours appear to have been the issue, something associated with a smoking battery.
An Apple Store in Zurich was also evacuated earlier this year following a similar incident with an overheating iPhone battery.
