Austria's Skyside Expands Fleet with First Citation Jet 3+
Skyside (SKV) based in Vienna has officially added its first Citation Jet 3+, registered as OE-GCN (msn 525B-0696), to its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) as of January 30, 2025. This 1.7-year-old aircraft was previously operated by Ortac in Jersey, where it was registered as 2-OTOD and configured to accommodate up to eight passengers.
The Citation Jet 3+ marks the last of two such aircraft previously operated by Ortac, with the jet's final flight under the previous operator's 'ORT' code occurring on December 18, 2024, between Rotterdam and Altenrhein, where it is currently parked. Ortac had retired its other Citation Jet 3+ in October 2024.
With the addition of the Citation Jet 3+, Skyside's fleet now includes a diverse range of aircraft, such as a Global 6000, a Falcon 2000EX EASy, a recently added Falcon 2000LX, and a G550, which was also recently inducted. In late 2024, Skyside commenced cargo operations using an A321-200(PCF) that is wet-leased from SmartLynx Airlines Malta.
Following the retirement of the Citation Jet 3+, Ortac continues to operate a fleet of five aircraft, which includes a Falcon 2000(LX) and four Phenom 300Es, and holds an Air Operator's Certificate in Guernsey. This expansion reflects Skyside's commitment to enhancing its operational capabilities and service offerings in the aviation market.
