BCR: Credit to individuals expanded 15.7% in 2022
Vehicle loans grew 15.9%, while credit card loans increased 32.6%.
The Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported that credit to individuals in the Peruvian financial system grew by 15.7% in 2022 compared to the previous year.
Said growth was evidenced mainly in the modality of loans in soles, which registered an increase of 16.5%, being 0.7% the rebound in December, evidenced by means of a study.
In this group, consumer loans had an increase of 21.4% in 2022, behavior favored by the advance of loans of this modality in soles by 21.6% and 19.8% in dollars. In monthly terms, consumer credit advanced 1.0% last December.
On the other hand, the BCR indicated that vehicle credit had an expansion rate of 15.9% in 2022. In monthly terms, this credit grew 0.2% in December 2022.
