1- Pir Chinasi
Pir Chinasi is a high station around 30 kilometers from Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir's capital (AJK). The camping area is at a height of 9,500 feet (2,895 meters) above sea level. The hilltop is a fascinating example of the natural beauty for which AJK is well-known. You can see Muzaffarabad city from the lush green plains of the hillside. What a spectacular view!
Devotees of Saint Shah Hussain Bukhari, who is buried here, frequently visit Pir Chinasi. When driving up to the camping spot via a well-paved road, his domed shrine signals the end of the adventure. Summers are pleasant, but winters are bitterly frigid. While camping season runs from May to October, the best months to visit are June to September for the greatest weather.
While there are a few motels at the top, they are always full, especially during the summer. For your convenience, it is recommended that you bring your camping gear with you on the way up. It takes roughly four hours to drive from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad, and then a brief jeep or bus journey will take you to the shrine.
People frequently camp near the shrine at the top of the hill, but if you prefer peace and alone, hike about 30 minutes to the nearby hill, which has similar views and is much less crowded.
2- Saif-ul-Maluk Lake
Saif-ul-Maluk Lake, about 10 kilometers from Naran, is one of Pakistan's most beautiful lakes, with a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. Thousands of tourists visit this lake each year, which is located at a height of 10,600 feet (3,200 meters) and offers plenty of boating and picnic options. Summer camping trips to Saif-ul-Maluk are excellent from June to September, when the road is safer due to the warmer weather.
The only method to travel to Saif-ul-Maluk Lake is to take a 4x4 jeep from Naran to your destination, which will transport you over dirt roads. Please be aware that the track is hazardous and slick, especially where it is coated in snow.
There are a few motels near the lake that will allow you to camp on their grounds in exchange for a fee. However, because the lake is only a short distance away, the expense is well worth it. You may even be permitted to camp right on the beach, but you must first obtain permission from the local authorities.
3- Shogran
Shogran, one of Pakistan's most easily accessible campsites, is known for its lush green meadows and pine trees. Shogran is around 7,500 feet (2,300 meters) above sea level and is located about 66 kilometers from the attractive town of Naran. The months of June to September are ideal for camping in Shogran since the weather is moderate and the journey to the region is quite easy.
In a jeep or a privately hired car, you can go from Kewai, the middle point between Naran and Shogran, up to Shogran on a completely paved road. The journey takes around one hour.
