Comedian single for five years launches crowdfunding appeal to help her track down Mr Right

Comedian Maddy Anholt is so fed up with the London dating scene that she's turned to crowdfunding to pay for a visit to Edinburgh in search of The One.
The 27-year-old, who has been single for five years, aims to raise £3,500 to pay for her trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a notorious hook-up destination for single people from across the world.
Maddy will also be using the money she raises to pay for a venue to put on a show at the Fringe.
The one-woman comedy show, Diary of a Dating Addict, will detail the highs and lows of her manhunt.
"I've blown all my money dating the men of London; now I’ve barely got enough to get the train to Watford, let alone Edinburgh.
"So now I’m turning to the public to help fund my fairytale ending," she says.
Maddy has set up an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign, where she writes: "I'm appealing to the wider community to help fund my fledgling love life – I'm making my hunt for Mr Right international."

In the running: Maddy has already managed to secure £1,670 so far
Maddy's quest for true love has caught the attention of Sarah Beeny, of dating site MySingleFriend, who has decided to partner the pretty comedian's project.
"We’re thrilled to be helping Maddy in her quest for romance," says Sarah.
"This army of crowdfunding cupids could be contributing to the greatest love story of our generation.
"At the very least a Highland fling or two."
Maddy has already managed to secure £1,670 so far, but hopes to raise a further £1830.
She is asking for donations of £10-£150, and is even offering prizes such as a romantic three course dinner.
"Five years is far too long time to be alone. I've done everything I can and I've been on every dating site that's out there," she says.
As with many people in their late twenties, Maddy is all too aware of her loved-up friends on social media.
"You hit a point in your late twenties where your Facebook timeline starts becoming polluted with engagements and endless baby photos," she says.
"After many disappointing dates in London, I've realised I need to spread my net to an international level: First stop Scotland."
