Copaco seeks agreement with Arsat to lower rates in Paraguay
Representatives of the Argentine Satellite Solutions Company ( Arsat ) and the Paraguayan Communications Company ( Copaco ) met to discuss the interconnection between Argentina and Paraguay.
The delegations discussed the possibility of the satellite operator working with the Paraguayan operator to provide solutions from its data center at the Benavidez Earth Station.
“Being a Mediterranean country and not having access to the coast, the cost of Internet service in Paraguay is high. This agreement means that we can overcome some barriers and lower the price of the service in our country ”, assured the Manager of Business Management and Regulation of Copaco, Hernán Franco.
The binational representatives met to advance the memorandum of understanding that specifies the link between the two countries.
"Paraguay is a beautiful nation and that is why we are pleased to be able to collaborate with Copaco to achieve connectivity and increase commercial activity between both countries," said Facundo Leal, president of Arsat.
The Paraguayan delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Information Technology and Communications of Paraguay, David Ocampos, who concluded: “For us, the Earth Station data center is a very valuable source of resources. If we can lay that highway, it will be a very big leap in quality for our suppliers and we will be able to lower the costs of services.” Read More…
