Destiny 2 Confirms Guardian Games Plans for 2023
Destiny 2 has officially confirmed its plans for the 2023 Guardian Games. Players can compete during the in-game event next month and have an opportunity to unlock a pair of Guardian Games weapons.
Former Halo developer Bungie launched Destiny 2 in 2017, with its most recent expansion, Lightfall, launching in February. In addition, the game’s hosted its annual Guardian Games event every Spring since 2020. Inspired by real-world competitions like the Olympics, the three-week event sees Destiny 2 players choose their favorite class and compete to see who’s the best. Last year also saw Bungie introduce the Guardian Games Cup, a charity competition where teams compete to win the most medals while raising money over Twitch.
This year’s event runs for three weeks, from May 2 until May 23, when Destiny 2’s Season of Defiance ends. Players will earn Medals from various in-game activities, including a new class-based version of Destiny 2’s supremacy PvP mode. Participants also have an opportunity to earn the Taraxippos Legendary Strand Scout Rifle and The Title, a Void Submachine Gun. The latter comes with the powerful Repulsor Brace Perk, which grants an Overshield after killing a target affected by the Suppression, Weaken, or Volatile effects. Read More…
