"Dreaming" by Emel Mathlouthi at the Municipal Theater of Tunis: Back on stage
At 9:00 p.m., Emel Mathlouthi appears on stage in an original red dress created by Hedi ben Mami, a young designer designer. An expected arrival by a large public who came to the premises of "La bonbonnière de la capital", in order to listen or re-listen to some new musical releases and enjoy this retrospective concocted by the singer. Emel Mathlouthi alternated the songs that made him known and those that accompany his career abroad, in the United States, in Europe and recently during a tour in Japan.
Lasting 90 minutes, this concert marks his return to Tunisia, after an absence of four years. A return that corresponds to the ten years of "Kelmti Horra", the album that made him successful. The singer sang in Tunisian dialect, in Arabic, in English and came back on her own albums, such as "Kelmti Horra", "Ensen", "We looked was Burning" and "The Tunis Diaries". Electronic and rock sounds, mixed with classical sounds, reverberated throughout his repertoire. Tracks that celebrate his Tunisian roots. Videos accompanied his songs throughout the concert: they visually recount universal struggles: social struggles, environmental protection, social justice, freedoms... so many themes that denounce atrocities in the world, but which maintain humanity and hope.
