EABL to give 100% refunds for Day-2 tickets of the WalkerTown Festival
East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has issued a full apology and announced 100% refunds for day two ticket holders of the WalkerTown Festival, which was severely disrupted by heavy rains. The festival, held over two days, featured prominent acts including Lauryn Hill and Nyashinski, but faced significant delays and technical issues on the second day.
Fans attending Sunday's event were left disappointed as the rain not only delayed performances but also caused technical problems, resulting in a poor sound system. Lauryn Hill's set, which started late at 3 a.m., was marred by the bad weather and sound difficulties. Nyashinski's performance was ultimately canceled due to the conditions.
In its statement, EABL acknowledged the festival's shortcomings and expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused. The brewer also pledged to refund the full value of day two tickets within two weeks, reaffirming their commitment to fairness and audience satisfaction.
The festival, previously hyped as one of the biggest events of the year, had already experienced issues on day one, including a stampede, pickpocketing, and robberies, further fueling fan frustration. Despite these setbacks, EABL reassured fans that they are taking responsibility for the event’s failure.
The WalkerTown Festival, now in its fourth edition, is traditionally a celebration of local and international music talent, but this year’s event left many fans voicing their discontent on social media over the poor organization.
