Ericsson Ramps Up Private 5G Channel Sales in the UK

Ericsson has intensified its channel sales efforts in the UK by appointing UK Connect, a wireless solutions provider, to deliver its enterprise 5G portfolio to UK enterprises. This partnership highlights the growing demand for private 5G solutions among UK businesses and indicates that Ericsson's offerings are now robust enough to support a wider network of resellers and integrators.

UK Connect acknowledges that deploying private 5G networks can be complex, yet the collaboration with Ericsson suggests that the demand from UK enterprises is strong enough to warrant an expansion of its reseller and integrator network. Ericsson emphasizes that “innovation cannot be limited by location or complexity,” indicating that their solutions are designed to facilitate digital transformation for enterprises regardless of their operational challenges. This partnership aims to provide both public and private 5G solutions, enabling businesses to adapt and thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.

UK Connect specializes in providing connectivity solutions for both people and machines, including IoT sensor networks, across various environments in the UK. By joining Ericsson’s channel partner program, UK Connect will offer a comprehensive suite of enterprise 5G products, including software-defined wide-area network (WAN) systems and private 4G/5G solutions. The company plans to deliver these offerings as managed services, simplifying the deployment process for enterprises through subscription packages and flexible management options.

Neil Wood, chief commercial officer at UK Connect, described the partnership as a “defining moment” for the company, emphasizing their commitment to delivering cutting-edge 5G solutions. He stated, “We’re driving our ability to deliver cutting-edge 5G solutions that will push the boundaries of what’s possible,” highlighting the potential for businesses to innovate and remain competitive in the digital age.

As part of Ericsson’s channel partner scheme, UK Connect will benefit from specialized training, implementation guides, and various educational resources aimed at enhancing customer engagement. This support is crucial for ensuring that UK Connect can effectively deploy private 5G solutions and assist enterprises in navigating the complexities of these technologies.

Matt Cook, head of global channels for Ericsson’s enterprise wireless solutions division, noted that as enterprises seek to enhance their competitiveness, they are increasingly turning to innovative technologies. He stated, “UK Connect will be able to support enterprises with this transformation by offering Ericsson’s complete portfolio of secure public and private cellular networking solutions to help unlock new opportunities to grow… anywhere with confidence.”

Ericsson's strategic partnership with UK Connect marks a significant step in the evolution of private 5G solutions in the UK. By expanding its channel sales activity and collaborating with a dedicated wireless solutions provider, Ericsson is positioning itself to meet the growing demand for private 5G networks among enterprises.
