For the fifth year in a row they are Norway's fastest mobile network
Telenor's mobile network has been voted Norway's fastest five years in a row. This happens after Ookla Speedtest has given the Telenor Speedtest Award for another six months.
This is an important recognition, and shows how our modernization of the mobile network improves our customers' mobile experiences. And with our 5G rollout, people across the country will benefit from both our high speeds and the new opportunities that 5G opens up, says Birgitte Engebretsen, CEO of Telenor Norway in a press release.
Doug Suttles, CEO of Ookla, comments on the Speedtest Award:
- It is a pleasure for us, for the fifth year in a row, to present Telenor with the award for the fastest mobile network in Norway. The recognition is a testament to their exceptional performance in the third and fourth quarters of 2022 based on Ookla's in-depth analysis of consumer-initiated tests taken with Speedtest.
5G speeds in 2022 Telenor has the fastest mobile network in Norway on both 4G and 5G. For the second half of 2022, Telenor's 5G network has a Speed ??Score of 244.73 Mbit/s, which is 27 percent faster than the nearest competitor.
- In general, we have extremely high ambitions with our coverage, and have always been ahead in terms of speed, coverage, stability and capacity. With more than 8,500 base stations, we have Norway's largest network, and we build with more capacity per base station than anyone else. Our mobile modernization means that the mobile experience is constantly improving for all of our customers, says Engebretsen.
More categories
In addition to being the fastest, Telenor also scores the highest in the other measurement categories. Thus, Telenor is also awarded the title "Best mobile network" by Ookla Speedtest. To get this title, the mobile operator must win two categories: Norway's fastest mobile network and Norway's best mobile coverage.
In the second half of 2022, Telenor won both of these categories, and thus gets the title "The year's best mobile network in Norway". Read More…
