Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia kicks off in Belarus

The eleventh release of the Gathering of Areas of Belarus and Russia will be running in Vitebsk, Polotsk and Novopolotsk on 27-28 June, BelTA has learned.
"The role of interregional cooperation in building an innovative economy of the Union State" is the theme of the forum. On the first day of the forum, Vitebsk will host a number of exhibitions. They will include a presentation of regions of Belarus and Russia, an exhibition of centers of crafts, an exhibition of technology, an exhibition of Intellectual Belarus, an exhibition of historical Vitebsk, an exhibition of artists and artisans, a showcase of traditional cuisines, and master classes.

There will be nine sections in the forum: "Interregional cooperation as a driver of the progressive development of the Union State of Belarus and Russia," "Innovative medicine and pharmacy in the Union State:" Effective enforcement of legislation as the most important factor in Union State integration priority areas and opportunities for growth," "Innovations in science and higher education: "Experience and prospects of the Union State's cooperation," "Cooperation between Belarus and Russia in innovations in the international context," "Ensuring Belarus and Russia's technological independence on the basis of innovations in the manufacturing sector," "Latest technologies in the agricultural industry of Belarus and Russia, support for scientific and personnel," and "Cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the light industry: from thoughts to advancements", "Social and helpful collaboration and the travel industry as the variables in reinforcing the connection between the areas of Belarus and Russia".
Natalya Kochanova, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, and Valentina Matviyenko, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, will meet with leaders of regional administrations in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on June 28. On this day, the 11th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will hold a plenary session.
At each of the forum's locations, agreements of cooperation, contracts for business, and other documents must be signed.
The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation are in charge of putting on the forum.
