"Game" by Iva Prlinčević: An Exhibition of Almost 200 Paintings in Three Cycles
The exhibition "Game" by Iva Prlinčević, featuring nearly 200 paintings across three distinct cycles, is currently open until July 15 at the House of King Peter in Senjak. The exhibition includes planned poetic and musical educational performances, during which the artist will paint live on a large canvas in the yard.
Overview of the Exhibition: "Iva Prlinčević's name is already known on the domestic creative scene. This, however, did not happen thanks to some kind of jokes and provocations, which is otherwise a common case in modern times. Iva, on the other hand, is immediately recognizable for the quality and peculiarities of her painting. It brings something new, authentic and fresh, at the same time associating it with very specific, classic works of the modern era," wrote Prof. Dr. Oliver Tomic.
Cycles of the Exhibition:
- Dolce Vita:
Inspired by Federico Fellini's film, this cycle explores the vibrant and dynamic aspects of life, reflecting the film's essence through vivid colors and expressive lines.
- Ljubav:
Dedicated to erotica, this cycle delves into the themes of love and intimacy, portraying them with sensitivity and an artistic touch that is both bold and nuanced.
- Joy of the Game:
This cycle captures the playful and joyful aspects of life, emphasizing the exuberance and spontaneity that comes with engaging in various forms of games and play.
Artistic Style and Technique: "The two main tools that Iva Prlinčević masterfully uses are color and line. She is undoubtedly an exceptional colorist and achieves great expressiveness in her works. Sometimes it seems that her pictures are a real explosion of colors, and yet at no point is aggression felt, which usually accompanies this kind of coloristic temperament. On the other hand, her playful lines, although more than dynamic, are not hysterical. They do not destroy forms, but build them finely to the minimum level that is sufficient to evoke pleasant associations in the viewer," Tomić pointed out.

About Iva Prlinčević: Iva Prlinčević was born in 1974 in Belgrade. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in the class of Prof. Jovan Sivački and received her master's degree in the class of Prof. Anđelke Bojović. She earned her doctorate with a dissertation on "Pictures in Alfred Hitchcock's films Catch Thieves and Vertigo," and the exhibition of her doctoral theses was held at the FLU Gallery in the same year. During a one-month stay at the Cite Internationale Des Arts in Paris, France, she participated in a group exhibition and trained under and assisted Peter Omchikus in his Paris studio. She is a member of ULUS.
This exhibition not only showcases Iva Prlinčević’s artistic evolution but also highlights her ability to evoke strong emotional responses through her masterful use of color and line, making "Game" a must-visit for art enthusiasts.
