Grafton Music and School Boosters hosting 53rd annual Chili Day
The Grafton Music and Theater Boosters will host their 53rd Chili Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Grafton High School, 1950 Washington St. The original-recipe chili will be served in the GHS cafeteria, with musical events taking place in the auditorium.
The 50th annual Chili Day was held in February 2020, weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic closings and was one of the last full audience performances for the Grafton music students until last year. This year, the students will return to the full event with food, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and a cakewalk.
This will be the first Chili Day held without long-time Grafton resident Don Burhop, who passed away last year. Burhop attended every Chili Day event over the years and was in attendance even last March for a take out Chili Day event.
Long held on the Sunday one week after the Super Bowl, Chili Day has been moved to a Saturday in March to coincide with the Music In Our Schools concert and fit between the district and state solo and ensemble festivals. Read More…
