Haris Rauf Reacts After Dismissing Glenn Maxwell in All Three ODIs
Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has expressed his satisfaction after successfully dismissing Australia’s Glenn Maxwell in all three matches of the recently concluded ODI series. This remarkable achievement contributed to Pakistan's historic series victory in Australia, marking their first series win Down Under since 2002.
In the third and final ODI, Pakistan chased down Australia’s target of 141 runs, securing an eight-wicket victory in just 26.5 overs. The bowling attack was spearheaded by Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah, who each took three wickets, while Rauf added two wickets to his tally, and Hasnain chipped in with one.
Rauf's performance throughout the series was exceptional, as he claimed a total of 10 wickets at an impressive average of 12, earning him the title of Player of the Series.
In the post-match presentation, Haris Rauf reflected on his performance and the significance of the victory for Pakistan. He praised Glenn Maxwell, referring to him as a “superstar” and a “legend.” Rauf stated, “Maxi is a superstar, a legend. I just try to dismiss him, and I was lucky to dismiss him thrice in the series.”
He further emphasized the importance of the series win, especially given Pakistan's struggles in recent months. “This series was very important for Pakistan because of the struggles in the last couple of months. We thought of winning when we landed here as the nation needed it,” he added.
Pakistan's momentum in the ODI series was bolstered by a nine-wicket victory in Adelaide, following a narrow defeat in the series opener on November 4. The two teams are now set to face off in a three-match T20I series, with the first match scheduled for November 14 at The Gabba in Brisbane. As Pakistan looks to build on their success, fans will be eager to see if Rauf and his teammates can continue their strong performance in the shorter format of the game.
