Hidden Belgium: Tervuren street art

Take a walk around Tervuren to spot the twelve electricity boxes that have been decorated by local street artists. The artists have transformed the dull functional boxes into artworks with scenes inspired by local history, wildlife and the vast Zoniënwoud forest.
The town has created a 3 km walk that takes you past the works. Look out for the fox by Margo Zonder T and the portraits by Bo Maes showing the 17th-century rulers archdukes Albrecht and Isabella as a dog and a fox.
The artworks are part of an ambitious project called ‘Tour Elentrik’ launched by the Leuven street art collective Treeparck. Their aim is to decorate ugly grey electricity boxes across the country.
