How to Rent Your House in Dublin With an Agent

If you’re thinking of renting your house out in Dublin, there are a number of things you will need to know. Firstly, you’ll need to find an agent to represent you when a tenant comes in to view the property. There are a number of agencies in every town and city that offer this service. But what happens next? How do you go about verifying references and key information about the lease? Here is our step-by-step process of renting your house through an agent.

Do Your Research Before You Rent Your House in Dublin

If you want to rent your home as quickly as possible, it’s important that you do your research before listing it. Doing so will give you an idea of what the rental market is like and whether or not this is the right time to be renting out your house.

Check if you have a licence from the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB). If not, get one before advertising anything; if yes, skip this step but make sure it’s valid! It’s also worthwhile checking its expiry date just in case there are any problems with it later on down the line.

Research going rates for similar properties in your area through sites like Daft.ie or MyHome.ie. These sites will give you an idea of what potential tenants are willing to pay for similar houses nearby so that yours doesn’t sit unoccupied for too long after being listed.

Declutter and Prepare Before Renting Your House

The next step is to declutter and prepare your home for potential renters. The less clutter you have, the more attractive your property will be to prospective tenants. Make sure all personal items are put away and remove any unnecessary furniture from the living room, kitchen or anywhere else that can be seen by potential renters.

Ensure that appliances are in good working order and do any repairs that need to be done before you start showing the house. Be sure to get hot water running into bathrooms, adequate heating (including radiators) in every room and ensure there are enough working light switches so that guests won’t stumble into dark rooms in case they arrive at night.

Choose a Letting Agent to Help You Rent Your House

When you’re ready to start interviewing agents, it’s important to remember that there are good and bad ones out there. Here are some questions you should ask:

· Have you ever worked with people who have moved houses before? This is a good way of seeing whether or not they’re prepared for your situation (and if they’re sympathetic).

· Can we meet face-to-face? It’s often easier to get a feel for someone when you can see them in person rather than over video chat or email. You may also be able to tell how organised they are based on how well their office is set up!

· What kind of listings do you use? An agent can only help rent out houses that aren’t already taken by other tenants—so make sure that any properties listed on their website actually exist! If the agent doesn’t have any active listings right now, ask what prompted them to stop actively searching for new clients.
