Hungry monkeys attack children as drought begins to starve humans and animals alike
One of the Ethiopia's worst droughts in recent memory has led hundreds of thousands of children to become malnourished and desperate monkeys trying to attack them.
According to a new report from Save the Children, the monkeys have been driven mad by hunger and thirst and are engaging in unusual behaviour - attacking children as well as live stock.
The drought has exacerbated the already difficult living conditions in the country, which has been ravaged by conflict and economic hardship due to factors beyond residents' control.
The charity also estimates that up to 185,000 children are suffering from the most deadly form of malnutrition due to the drought.
Unable to stay in their homes, many families have taken to wandering the country in search of respite.
