In Manta they gunned down a restaurant owner a few meters from his business; a month ago they murdered one of his assistants
Her son's body was lying on the floor, lifeless and with bullet wounds to the head. She only shouted claiming the reasons why her son was one more victim of the hired killers in Manta.
The victim in this murder was identified as Marcos Farfán Mendoza, 38 years old. He owned a restaurant located a few meters from where he was shot, on 12th Street and 35th Avenue, in the south of Manta.
"When you left you gave me a kiss, I don't want to go, I don't want to go, leave me, he's my son, he's my son ...", were part of the cries that a woman emitted about Farfán, who fell near a business selling fruit and vegetables. Attempts prior to the crime, he had reached there and had sat on the sidewalk.
The way of assassinating him was quite stealthy. A witness, who did not identify himself, said that two people on a motorcycle were involved in the crime, and that one of them approached him and shot him.
"Then when he was already on the floor, he shot him in the head again, finished him off when he fell," said the citizen who demanded more security in the city of Manta.

The young man was an assistant in Farfán Mendoza's restaurant; both lived in the San Juan de Manta commune.
Farfán Mendoza was murdered five minutes after a police patrol car passed near the area where the crime was committed, according to Patricio Almendariz, head of the Manta district.
Alexandra Bravo, prosecutor on duty, and who was also involved in the removal of the body of naval intelligence agent George Barragán, murdered on Wednesday afternoon in the Tarqui parish, pointed out that police officers are already working on this new violent act.
Almendariz added that, after learning about the attack, the police vehicle that five minutes before the crime passed through the Santa Martha sector, followed up and located a burned motorcycle in the 15 de Septiembre neighborhood, south of Manta.
