Inflation up 3.5 percent year-on-year
Economists had already expected inflation to rise. An annual increase of 3.3 to 3.5 percent was forecast. The number is therefore at the upper end of expectations, as SRF writes. Imported goods in particular have become more expensive again. Compared to the previous year, these goods cost 8.6 percent more.
The national index of consumer prices also rose again compared to the previous month, by 0.3 percent. This is now at 104.8 points. According to the Federal Statistical Office, there are several factors for this. On the one hand, higher prices for inpatient hospital services, on the other hand, the prices for social facilities and apartment rents have risen.
