Infona suspends authorization of burning permits due to drought conditions
The National Forestry Institute (Infona) suspended the authorization of burning permits throughout the national territory until December 31 of this year due to the occurrence of forest fires.
The climatic conditions forecast for the remainder of 2022 are not conducive to the use of fire in any of its forms, added to the state of drought in much of the country, the resolution pointed out among its foundations.
Infona's resolution is possible after its confirmation as the authority in charge of applying Law 6,818/21 "Comprehensive Fire Management" with the recent regulation approved by the Executive ( Decree No. 7,775/22).
The regulations of this law establish that Infona may declare an “emergency situation” in the event that the monitoring systems show conditions that are not suitable for carrying out controlled burning activities. Read More…
