Jairo Anibal Nià±o, the tender imprint of the writer of the heart

Jairo Aníbal was not a common writer, the girls and boys of the nineties remember with emotion and sweetness his writings and descriptions of elements, situations and scenes of children's imagination; His stories coincide in the warm feeling that comes to those who grew up with his tender and innocent texts about life.

His memory and the imprint that his pen left in the minds and hearts of millions of children in Colombia, Latin America and the world where his stories reached with the universal language of imagination and tenderness. Lucy Camacho, my Spanish teacher at school, took us by the hand through that work, endowed with a loving and tender writing that would accompany us to adulthood that we keep like those little planes, like those tiger drops or like that silence in the that he left us, like that guitar without six strings, when he passed away on August 30, 2010 in the city of Bogotá.

Another year has passed since it would be the birthday of Colombian children's literature writer Jairo Anibal Niño
Today we remember the boy who became a friend of all of us in childhood, the teacher of all those who knew him, read or coincided with him in the midst of some extraordinary pirouette of life, the one who was born on September 5, 1941, in Moniquirá, a municipality in the Colombian countryside.

Niño was an artist of the heart, his inspiration was reflected in the story, theater, poetry, painting, teaching and even in politics. He was a university professor, director of the National Library of Colombia, director of the theater workshop of the Teatro Libre de Bogotá, scriptwriter and director of the theater of the National University of Colombia at its headquarters in Bogotá.

On some occasions he used the pseudonym of Amadeo Zoro, but his readers remember him as an astronaut, as a grandfather, as the guardian of the innocent thought of childhood, as that rebel who gave himself up to the feat of mobilizing the affections that would mark a girl who, as an adult, would continue to be a girl in the body of a writer and librarian, the immense journey of that book occasionally given away in some activity that puts in the hands of a child an instruction manual to understand love from feelings, college life or football.
