Jokowi Sends Off Team Indonesia to Paris Olympics
President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo officially sent off the Indonesian contingent for the 2024 Paris Olympics during a ceremony held in the Merdeka Palace courtyard, Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 10. He expressed his high hopes for a successful performance by the athletes and the potential for winning medals.
President's Encouraging Words
Jokowi encouraged the athletes, saying, “The people are eager to see the Red and White flag raised and hear Indonesia Raya resonate through the Olympic arena, and hope you return home with medals.” He emphasized the importance of competing with enthusiasm and optimism, even against strong international competitors, and acknowledged the rigorous selection process that led to their participation in the prestigious sports event.

Team Indonesia for the Paris Olympics
Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo announced the participation of 29 athletes in the Paris Olympics. The team consists of 16 male and 13 female athletes competing across 12 sports, including badminton, rock climbing, aquatics, gymnastics, and judo.
