Kadebostany releases fourth album
Kadebostany, the versatile music group hailing from Lausanne, unveiled their fourth album titled "Play This At My Funeral" on June 2, 2023. This album holds a special significance as it revolves around the contemplation of the band's leader, Guillaume, about his own demise and the music that should accompany his funeral.
However, this exploration does not imply that the band's spirit will fade away. On the contrary, despite being only 30 years old, Guillaume's creative reservoir brims with ideas, and a European tour is already in the works. Noteworthy stops on the tour include the Estivale Open Air in July 2023, the Crock'Altitude in August 2023, and the Docks in September 2023.
Guillaume revealed, "It's the perfect soundtrack for my future funeral, although I hope it will be a long time before that happens. It appears that when one becomes aware of their mortality, they engage in life with heightened intensity. I immersed myself in that mindset while writing the lyrics, treating them as eulogies. Surprisingly, this approach transformed them into deeply moving love songs that defied any morbid connotations."
"There was nothing eerie about it," Guillaume continued. "In fact, I envision my funeral as a joyous occasion. Furthermore, when I compose and write, I strive to evoke tears accompanied by smiles. This paradoxical pursuit captivates me."
"I appreciate melancholy, yet I also cherish contrast. I find it intriguing to juxtapose cheerful, vibrant melodies with poignant lyrics. It always yields captivating results."
"Death is a universal phenomenon; eventually, we will all meet our demise. Hence, there was ample material to explore within the realm of this album."
