Lee Kun-hee's Art Collection Finds a Home at Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art

On Friday, art enthusiasts flocked to the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, to witness the grand unveiling of the exhibition titled "Seasons - Lee Kun-hee Collection: Modern and Contemporary Korean Art." This remarkable showcase features a splendid assortment of modern paintings generously donated by the late Samsung Chairman, Lee Kun-hee. The exhibition boasts forty-six captivating artworks, all of which are part of the prestigious collection belonging to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, graciously bestowed by Lee.
In addition to the awe-inspiring pieces from Lee's personal collection, the exhibition also encompasses various other remarkable artworks from state museums, collectively presenting a total of 90 masterpieces crafted by 41 renowned modern and contemporary Korean artists. One notable inclusion in this extraordinary display is "Boy," a mesmerizing creation by the esteemed Korean painter Kim Chong-tai, dating back to 1929, which happens to be a prized possession from Lee's collection.
