Artina-Sarinah #2 art exhibition praised by Ministry
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has praised the "artina-Sarinah #2" exhibition, a showcase of contemporary art that highlights the work of artists from diverse fields.
Hilmar Farid, the Director General of Culture at the Ministry, expressed his satisfaction with the exhibition during the opening ceremony on Friday, March 3. He remarked, "This is artina's second exhibition, and I can see an improvement, not only in visual arts but also in film and fashion arts."
Farid emphasized that the exhibition demonstrates how Indonesian arts can intersect and connect with each other, transcending boundaries. The artina-Sarinah #2 exhibition embodies the spirit of unity in diversity, encompassing various dimensions.
He further stated, "Despite different perspectives, this exhibition portrays a shared essence. It serves as an enlightenment and a significant contribution to the advancement of culture. We hope it will inspire other artists' expressions in the future."
The artina-Sarinah #2 contemporary art exhibition revolves around the theme of "matrajiva," which explores the spiritual and religious dimensions prevalent in Indonesian society and life. The theme draws inspiration from the rich cultural diversity found across the archipelago, with its abundance of spiritual values.
The exhibition is scheduled to run from March 4 to May 31, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. Attendees can participate in various programs, including curated tours, artist talks, and workshops.
During the event, Farid also engaged in a discussion with several artists regarding the allocation of funds from the Cultural Endowment Fund (DAK) for 2023. The estimated amount of this fund is Rp5 trillion (approximately US$327 million).
"We have already held discussions on the matter. The funds have been allocated and will be added to the existing amount of Rp5 trillion. This annual allocation is open to all initiatives, particularly those of significant importance," explained Farid.
