Madison Print & Resist Zine Fest Set for April 16 at Central Library

Madison Print & Resist Zine Fest is a day-long festival of political print media, zines, experimental publications, and prints related to the world of art, do-it-yourself culture, and political action. The event brings together subversively creative print/media artists including zine makers, printers, poster-makers, and other self-published artists and writers to share their work with the Madison area community.
This year’s fest takes place at the Central Library, 201 W. Mifflin St. on Saturday, April 16 from 11 am to 4 pm.
Since its inauguration, Madison Print & Resist has been a scrappy and grassroots collaborative effort. This year the event organizers are coming together from a number of local organizations such as Communication, The Bubbler at Madison Public Library, Underbelly Creative + Collective, Artworking, and A Room of One’s Own to make the event a reality.
“Communication is so happy to be a part of the fuel that keeps Madison Print & Resist moving forward. As a partner and collaborator to Madison Print & Resist, we are enriched by the connections we make at and through the zinefest. We look forward to helping grow the infrastructure of MP&R through the years to strengthen the local zine and printing community,” said Jennifer Bastian, Director of Communication, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering a vibrant creative community in Madison.
Over 50 artists and zinemakers from all over the Midwest will have their works available at the day-long festival. The 2022 event poster was designed by artist Maxwell James.
