Mae Muller announces ‘vulnerable and empowering’ debut album
Mae Muller has revealed that her highly anticipated debut album will be an empowering masterpiece, shedding light on her vulnerable side. The talented 25-year-old songstress, who captivated audiences last month as the UK representative in the Eurovision Song Contest, securing second place with her heartfelt ballad "I Wrote A Song," is set to release her 17-track LP titled "Sorry I'm Late" on September 15.
Expressing her excitement about the forthcoming album, Muller eagerly awaits the moment when her dedicated fans, who have supported her since the beginning, will finally get to experience the record. Additionally, she is eager for those who have shown unwavering support throughout her Eurovision journey to delve into more of her musical creations.
On this album, Muller delves into uncharted territory, revealing a different side of herself—one characterized by vulnerability, an aspect she has not previously explored. By showcasing both her strength, sassiness, and confidence alongside her moments of sadness and introspection, Muller seeks to emphasize that she remains true to herself. In her own words, "it's just as empowering to show both sides."
The album will include Muller's Eurovision dance-pop breakup anthem, which soared to number nine on the UK charts, alongside her previously released tracks "I Just Came To Dance" and "Better Days," the latter being a collaboration with Neiked and Polo G.
Furthermore, "Sorry I'm Late" boasts a captivating lineup of songs, including "Sorry Daniel," "Bitch With A Broken Heart," "Me, Myself & I," "Tatiana" featuring Dylan, "Somebody New," "I Wish I Could Hate You," "Little Bit Sad," "MTJL," "Breathe," "Something Real," "Nervous (In A Good Way)," "Porn Lied To Us," "Miss America," and "Written By A Woman." Each of these tracks delves into the realms of love, loss, dating, and relationships with unapologetic honesty. Moreover, they serve as a poignant expression of the broader frustrations experienced by young women today, ultimately crafting a heartfelt homage to the multifaceted nature of womanhood.
Expressing her gratitude, Muller took to Instagram to thank her fans for their unwavering support. She eagerly anticipates sharing laughter, dance, tears, and music with her devoted followers through this album, which holds a special place in her heart—a sentiment nearly as profound as her love for her fans.
At the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, Muller secured the 25th position with her moving performance of "I Wrote A Song," earning a total of 24 points. Notably, Germany ranked below the UK with 18 points. The night witnessed a triumph for Sweden's Loreen, who previously claimed victory in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, enchanting audiences with her mesmerizing song "Tattoo."
