Ugandan musician and actor, Maurice Kirya has cancelled a show after he reportedly tested positive with Covid-19.
“To my fans and friends, I will not be able to perform at Levels tomorrow (Monday 13th) as today I tested positive for COVID-19. I would like to extend my profound apologies to you all and the management of Levels for the inconvenience that this might have caused,” the Misubbaawa singer tweeted June 12, 2022 hours after the Ministry of Health said 116 more people had tested positive with the virus as Uganda’s cases rose to 166,237 since March 2020 when the pandemic was confirmed in the country.
So far, the virus has claimed the lives of 3,601 people with at least 100,390 recoveries by June 10, 2022, according to Ministry of Health.
Officials also said only six active cases are admitted in the different hospitals across the country.
A total of 21, 490, 654 vaccine doses have been administered so far across the country while the positivity rate is said to be 4.5 percent. Read More…
