Moonfire Ventures Secures $115 Million to Back European Tech Startups and AI Companies
Moonfire Ventures, established in 2020 by former co-founder of Atomico, Mattias Ljungman, announced on Wednesday that it successfully raised $115 million in funding. The objective is to invest in European technology startups and the rapidly growing artificial intelligence (AI) sector.
The fundraising achievement of Moonfire Ventures underscores the increasing prominence of artificial intelligence in Europe. This development has prompted global policymakers to consider more effective regulations for AI.
Ljungman stated, "Europe has been at the forefront of AI, and our primary focus is to support the next generation of entrepreneurs who are tackling significant challenges in areas such as healthcare, employment, finance, and gaming."
Earlier this week, Margrethe Vestager, the European Union's technology leader, expressed that the EU and the United States plan to intensify their collaboration on artificial intelligence. The goal is to establish minimum standards that can be implemented prior to the enactment of legislation.
