During the draw, which took place at the studios of the SuperSport channel in Johannesburg, South Africa, Morocco’s national team was placed in Group K, alongside Liberia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
The 2023 AFCON, which marks the championship’s 24th edition, will take place in Cote d’Ivoire.
The playoffs for the African championship will start in June 2022 and the 24 teams that will participate will be revealed in September 2022.
The 48 nations who had qualified for the group stages of the qualifiers were drawn into 12 groups in an alphabetical order from A to L.

Group A: Sao Tome and Principe, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria.
Group B: Eswatini, Togo, Cape Verde, and Burkina Faso.
Group C: Burundi, Namibia, Kenya, and Cameroon.

Group E: Central African Republic, Angola, Madagascar, and Ghana.
Group F: Tanzania, Niger, Uganda, and Algeria.
