Morocco, Palestine Strengthen Cooperation in Social Inclusion, Solidarity Sector

Aawatif Hayar highlighted Morocco’s efforts in the sector of family and social inclusion, notably women empowerment.
Morocco and Palestine on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of solidarity, social integration, and family between the two countries.
Morocco’s Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family Aawatif Hayar and Palestine’s Minister of Social Development Ahmed Majdalani signed the agreement in Morocco’s capital Rabat.
The agreement encourages the exchange of expertise between the two countries in several areas, including the digital approach to social protection, as well as improving methods of targeting social categories.
Speaking to the press, Hayar indicated that the MoU includes the training of personnel in the social field, with the aim of “professionalizing” the sector’s functions.
Noting that King Mohammed VI’s chairmanship of the Al-Quds Committee, also known as Bayt Mal Al Qods Agency, Hayar highlighted that Palestinians hold a special place in Moroccans’ hearts.
Founded by Morocco’s late King Hassan II, the committee is dedicated to carrying out social projects in Al-Quds (Arabic for Jerusalem) and protecting its religious and cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, Majdalani said the agreement represents a renewal of the MoU that Morocco and Palestine signed in 1996 in the field of solidarity and social inclusion.
He noted that a committee has been established to monitor the implementation of the agreement’s obligations, as well as ensure the MoU achieves its objectives.
During her meeting with her Palestinian counterpart, Hayar highlighted her ministry’s efforts in the sector of social inclusion, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. She notably celebrated the North African country’s work in regard to the economic empowerment of women.
