Nairobi Design Week 2023 To Go Down This March
Kenya’s premier design festival Nairobi Design Week 2023 is happening next month. This year, the action goes down at the Opportunity Factory, Mbagathi Ridge, Karen from 11th to 19th March. Just like past editions the 2023 edition is divided into two major parts. These are a festival running from the 11th to the 12th and an exhibition from the 13th to the 19th of March.
This annual design festival is created to highlight the importance of all design disciplines and their impact on economic, social, cultural, and environmental development. Since its inception in 2015, the Nairobi Design week has brought together creatives and design enthusiasts from all walks of life to celebrate creativity all while having fun.
Last year, the festival was graced by over 30 exhibitors drawn from various fields such as virtual reality, environmental science, agriculture, food, film, photography, home décor, mental health, digital art, handicrafts, etc. Under the theme It’s What We Make It, this year the Nairobi Design Week 2023 organizers are promising yet another splendid ensemble.
Interested creatives can participate by exhibiting physically or digitally. Exhibitors are welcome to display their designs in formats such as physical products, physical installations or experiences, sculptures, illustrations, animations, photographs, images, digital 2D & 3D artworks, films, computer-generated visual media, algorithmic & fractals, etc. depending on the exhibition mode of their choice.
