New Art Exhibition at the Cultural Center of Spain in Guatemala
The Cultural Center of Spain in Guatemala has inaugurated an intriguing exhibition titled “Art, Nature and Women: Ecofeminist Perspectives on Art in Guatemala.” This collection is a testament to the center’s dedication to intertwining environmental activism with feminist art, offering a platform that highlights the synergy between these vital movements.
This exhibition is part of a broader initiative by the Network of Cultural Centers of Spain in Latin America and Equatorial Guinea, under the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). Throughout 2024, the series will focus on ecofeminism, showcasing public exhibitions and programs that explore this theme in depth.
Curated by Rossina Cazali, the exhibition features the works of 18 women artists, providing a historical journey from the late 17th century to the present. These works encapsulate the rich artistic practices in Guatemala, shedding light on the ecofeminist perspective through diverse and powerful mediums.
Visitors are invited to experience the exhibition from Tuesday to Saturday, between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM, until Saturday, November 2. The exhibition is located at the Cultural Center of Spain (6th Avenue 11-02, Zone 1, Lux Building, second level), and admission is free.
