The Continuum exhibition is currently on display at the Museo Nacional de Arte Guatemala (Munag) and the headquarters of the Spanish Cooperation in La Antigua Guatemala, running until September 19. The event is free of charge at both venues.
Curated by Waseem Syed, the exhibition features works from over 15 international artists and two national artists.
Among the interactive installations is "Play and Learn" by Cuban artist Rodolfo Peraza. This piece invites visitors to engage with a video game in which they must destroy phrases from the Formal Education Manual, a book historically used to educate children in Cuba and to dictate permissible behavior.
Syed highlighted the diversity and accessibility of the exhibition, stating, "We have artists from Colombia, Chile, the United States, and Cuba, among others, presenting complex yet easily comprehensible works. Guatemala is also well represented, showcasing the immense talent and cultural richness of three artists who encapsulate national traditions beautifully."
This unique exhibition provides an opportunity for visitors to experience a rich blend of international and local artistry, highlighting contemporary themes through various mediums and interactive elements.
