Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan has given a glimpse into his forthcoming live-action film, "Mikolo," which targets a young audience. Collaborating with Anthill Studios, the film was shot amidst the picturesque mountains of Ondo state. This captivating project delves into the themes of family, friendship, societal values, and love for animals.
With a mix of live-action and CGI, Mikolo transports viewers into a magical realm where the impossible becomes reality. Through the innovative use of technology and VFX software, the film incorporates advanced techniques. In a groundbreaking move for Nigerian cinema, the team employed live scanning of the actors, enabling their characters to seamlessly navigate flying scenes. As Anthill Studio's inaugural cinematic release for children, Mikolo showcases the talents of teenage actors Pamilerin Adegoke (12) and Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga (8). Accompanying them are acclaimed Nollywood stars Etim Effiong and Yvonne Jegede, alongside the exceptionally talented young actors Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga and Oluwapamilerinayo, who play pivotal roles in the film.
While details about the plot and release date remain under wraps, Mikolo is expected to make its grand debut on the big screen later this year.
