Party Leaders Weigh in on the Economy in Debate Held at ERT
The discourse that had been planned among the leaders of the Greek political parties at the premises of the ERT, which is the national broadcaster, lasted for a duration of roughly three hours on Wednesday.
The participants in this discourse were Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the leader of the New Democracy party and the Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, the leader of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Nikos Androulakis, the leader of PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL), Dimitris Koutsoubas, the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Greece, Kyriakos Velopoulos, the leader of Greek Solution, and Yanis Varoufakis, the Secretary of MeRA25. The seating arrangement of the aforementioned leaders was determined based on the number of seats that they had in the previous Parliament session.
There were six journalists who were responsible for interrogating these political leaders. These journalists were Antonis Sroiter from Alpha TV, Giorgos Papadakis from ANT1, Rania Tzima from Mega, Panagiotis Stathis from Open, Sia Kossioni from Skai, and Mara Zacharea from Star. The moderator for the discourse was journalist Giorgos Kouvaras.
The number of questions that were asked during the discourse totaled to 36, which were categorized into 6 themes.

The leaders were addressed by rotation at the start of each theme, and they were given a maximum of 3 minutes to answer, with the possibility of extensions. Ideally, their responses were expected to be within 1.5 minutes. Each speaker was given a warning 15 seconds before their allotted time ran out. Upon the conclusion of all the questions, each political leader was granted approximately 3 minutes to make a general comment directed towards citizens. In a statement, ERT had announced that they would use 26 cameras both inside and outside the building, in addition to a drone.
The discourse was covered by six nationwide TV channels, while dozens of journalists had received accreditation to cover it for both domestic and foreign news outlets. A temporary press center had been established on the first floor to assist in facilitating their work. ERT had also provided a sign-language expert, and the discourse was posted on ERTFLIX and ERTFLIX International.
