Raw materials procurement, major constraint for manufacturing companies (INS)
The procurement of raw materials is still one of the main obstacles facing manufacturing companies, reads a survey on the situation and prospects of these companies in the 4th quarter of 2022, published Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Conducted between November 11, 2022 and January 20, 2023, among a sample of 989 companies in the industrial sector, this survey shows a slight decline in the balance of opinion on the change of raw material prices.
As for industrial production, the balance of opinion of business leaders in the sector edged up slightly to 14% against 6% during Q2 of 2022.
In terms of external demand for industrial materials, a slight rise was posted in the balance of opinion during Q4 of 2022, compared to Q3 of 2022 and is expected to further improve during Q1 of 2023.
Besides, The INS pointed to an increase in the balance of opinion on the level of external demand in Q4 2022, which is expected to keep steady in Q1 of 2023. Read More…
