Tunisia: inflation climbs to 10.2% in January 2023
The inflation rate in Tunisia confirmed its upward trend in January 2023, rising to 10.2% against 10.1% in December 2022, according to the National Institute of Statistics.
This increase is mainly explained by the increase in the prices of food products, which rose by 14.1% over one year, including in particular the prices of eggs (29.6%), sheep meat (28.1%), edible oils (23.5%), beef (21%), cereal derivatives (16.9%) and fresh fruit (14.7%).

Similarly, the prices of manufactured products increased by 10.2% over one year due to the increase in the prices of building materials (9.1%), clothing products (9.5%) and routine household cleaning products (10.3%).
For services, the price increase was 7.3% over one year, mainly due to the rise in the price of restaurant, café and hotel services (9.8%) and public and private transport services (15 .9%). Read More…
