Representation of Moroccan-Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce Opens in Dakhla
A representation of the Moroccan-Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce was inaugurated on March 26 in Dakhla, southern Morocco, to consolidate trade and economic cooperation between the North African country and Brazil.
The representation intends to operate as a tool to boost economic and commercial ties between Morocco and Brazil with an eye on encouraging Brazilian companies to invest in Morocco.
Eduardo Nantes Bolsonaro, a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil, said in a statement to Morocco’s state news agency that the representation aims to improve trade between the two nations in the long term.
Nantes Bolsonaro also said he hoped to see Morocco become a hub for Brazil's exports to Africa.
"The objective of this visit is to further strengthen relations with the Kingdom, with which we have good relations," he added.
The Brazilian official welcomed the cordial and cultural ties with Morocco, stressing the need to intensify exchanges of visits and strengthen mutual support within international and continental organizations.
Echoing much of Bolsonaro’s optimism and enthusiasm about Morocco-Brazil ties, Farid Mechqi, president of the Moroccan-Afro-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Sao Paulo, noted in particular the need to boost Brazilian investments in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region.
Mechqi stressed that the new representation will have a mission of highlighting the potential and assets of the region to Brazilian investors, emphasizing that Dakhla has become a leading hub linking Morocco to other African countries. Read More...
