Serbian women's basketball players play against Turkey at the opening of the EP in Ljubljana
On June 15, the Serbian women's basketball team will play against the Turkish team in Ljubljana on the first day of the European Championship, the European branch of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced.
Today, FIBA Europe announced the complete schedule of European basketball competitions for women, which will be held from June 15 to 25 in Slovenia and Israel. Serbia will play its first match in group D at the EP against Turkey on June 15 at 3 p.m. The chosen coach of Serbia, Marina Maljković, will meet Slovakia in the second round on June 16 at 8:45 p.m. Serbia will play its last match in the group on June 18 at 3 p.m. against Hungary.
The first-placed selections from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals. The second-placed and third-placed national teams from each group will play one qualifying match for placement in the quarter-finals of the EP.
Qualifying matches for reaching the quarter-finals are scheduled for June 19 and 20, and the quarter-finals are on June 22. The semi-finals and the two losers' matches in the quarter-finals, which will fight for the fifth place leading to the Olympic Games, are scheduled for June 24. The fifth and third place matches, as well as the grand final, will be played on June 25.
