The latest Stanford/Elsevier's Top 2% Scientist Rankings features 205 individuals from Bangladesh, highlighting the nation's growing influence in global scientific research. This prestigious ranking includes scientists, researchers, and faculty members from various institutions such as Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka University, BRAC University, and several others, reflecting a wide array of expertise across different fields.
The rankings, now in their sixth edition, identify the top 2% of scientists globally, recognizing both their career-long achievements and recent contributions. The selection is based on standardized data from sources like citations, the h-index (a metric for author impact), and other bibliometric indicators. Researchers are categorized into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, using Scopus data provided by Elsevier.
