The most convenient and stress-free way to get around Ho Chi Minh is to use a taxi booked with one of the taxi apps. The main taxi apps in Vietnam are Grab and Gojek. Grab is slightly more expensive and both apps can be used at the same time. All you need is a SIM card with some local mobile data and then you can download the app and register for an account. Once you have your account set up, you can book taxis online. You will be given the price of the journey before you book and you can select “pay with cash” if you prefer to pay the driver directly.
