The first Greek hire by a historic US music studio
At just 25 years old, Alexandros Kalteziotis has achieved a dream that few could imagine. Growing up in the Attica suburb of Pikermi and listening to iconic songs like "Every Breath You Take," Kalteziotis never thought he would one day be working in the very same studio where The Police recorded much of their legendary music. Today, he holds the distinction of being the first Greek hired by the historic Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood, a place deeply embedded in the annals of U.S. musical history.
Kalteziotis, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music, has spent roughly a year working at Henson, a studio known for its high-precision equipment and a legacy that dates back to its founding by Charlie Chaplin in 1917. The studio, which later became A&M Records under Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, was acquired by Jim Henson in 2000 and has since remained a fortress of privacy for top-tier musicians. Despite its exclusivity, Kalteziotis describes the environment as "heaven on Earth for artists," a place where present-day stars like Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and Justin Bieber, as well as legends like The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney, choose to work.
Working at Henson comes with its perks, including access to every room and the opportunity to be part of a storied history that includes the recording of "We Are the World" in 1985. However, it also involves strict confidentiality agreements. Kalteziotis has already made his mark, particularly in his collaborations with Norwegian artists Jon Ranes and Ingrid Saga. His work on the album "Loverboy" and the single "In the Space Between Our Souls" has propelled these tracks to the top of Norway's Spotify charts, garnering over a million streams.
Kalteziotis' journey is a testament to the opportunities that can arise when talent meets the right environment. His connection to Henson not only represents a significant personal achievement but also highlights the studio's role in shaping the future of music, one Berklee graduate at a time.
