In this remake of an old favourite, palo cortado sherry combines with rye to glorious effect. It’s a great one to kick off New Year, but be warned – it packs a real punch. Serves one.
35ml palo cortado
35ml rye whiskey
10ml sugar syrup
2-3 dashes orange bitters
Orange zest, to garnish
Half-fill a tumbler with ice, pour over all the liquids, stir, garnish and serve.
