The ordeal of getting around on public transport
A never-ending problem is the situation of public passenger transport in the metropolitan area. The population that must use this way to get around constantly complains about the lack of buses, a situation that is notorious at night.
Although the Government reports the increase in service at night, this is not reflected in public opinion. The complaints refer that in addition to the long wait for the units, they must deal with the danger of the streets, due to the prevailing insecurity and the constant robberies. Many students and workers finish their activities late at night, and must manage to return home. Some opt for alternative means of transportation, however, the cost of this type of service does not make it profitable in the long run.
Another of the problems of public transport in the country is the few buses during peak hours. The passengers go like "sardines" in the full vehicles, even to the footrest. And as if that were not enough, the terrible traffic congestion does not help.
