The underlying reasons behind the ongoing feud between Sara Jo and Nevena Božović have often eluded the public's knowledge or been forgotten. However, the truth behind the conflict has finally been unveiled.
Sara Jo, despite narrowly missing out on victory at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, had previously represented our nation as part of the group "Moje tri" alongside Nevena Božović and Mirna Radulović back in 2013.
Regrettably, their song "Love is everywhere" did not fare well, and following Eurovision, each member went their separate ways.
During that time, numerous reports surfaced about a brewing conflict among the group, which reached its pinnacle shortly before the competition. According to media accounts, Sara Jovanović and Nevena Božović encountered difficulties due to their involvement with the volleyball player Aleksandar Atanasijević. Jovanović was romantically involved with Atanasijević, who subsequently became involved with Božović.
At Beovision, they strived to maintain professionalism, but their strained relationship became evident during their performance. Nevena intentionally avoided making eye contact with Sara, who exuberantly danced across the stage. At one point, Sara attempted to climb onto Nevena's shoulder. Although Božović initially resisted, Jovanović ultimately succeeded in her endeavor. While the singers never officially confirmed their separation, they ceased appearing together in public and avoided each other at various events in the city.
Now, years after the incident, Sara has chosen to divulge the details of her dispute with her former friend during the "Kontrashow" television program. Although she did not explicitly mention Nevena's name, it became apparent to many that Sara was referring to the blonde singer.
"I experienced a similar situation with a colleague who was once very close to me and whom I met at a competition ten years ago. Eventually, everything unfolded and made headlines, but I chose to disregard it all, hoping that the other party would invite me for a conversation over coffee to resolve everything," Sara commenced her narrative on Kurir TV.
"Eventually, I invited her for coffee after realizing that there was significant discomfort between us. Alright, call me childish, but I noticed that she had unfollowed me on Instagram. She explained that her Instagram manager had advised her to do so. As I sat across from her, it dawned on me that my efforts and understanding were futile. It all amounted to nothing," Sara elaborated.
Additionally, Sara expressed her regret over the lingering uncertainties that still exist between them.
"That's how it ended. I feel remorseful because even to this day, certain aspects remain ambiguous. However, I simply can't tolerate someone demeaning my intelligence," Sara concluded, leaving the possibility of a future reconciliation between the former friends uncertain.
