The Walking Dead mid-season finale to feature unexpected new enemy
The Walking Dead will head into the mid-season 11 break with a biblical crescendo thanks to an unexpected enemy.
Across its 12-year stretch on our screens, AMC's zombie apocalypse drama has introduced a rogues' gallery of villains for our central survivors to contend with, from David Morrissey's eye-patched Governor to Samantha Morton's ghoulish Alpha. But the newest example is a bit different.
Chatting to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Angela Kang confirmed an "odd locust swarm" is coming in the finale to season 11, part B.
"We've been dealing with a lot of things that have caused incredible trouble for our people, like when Alexandria was destroyed by a rainstorm," she said.
"And we've been showing how nature can kind of get in the way of our people's best laid plans. And so, this is another one of those moments, and it's all colliding and making their lives very, very difficult and unsustainable."
Kang also touched on how the mid-season finale will come to a close, sharing: "There are some threads that will come to a conclusion while there are other threads that are really just kind of continuing to ramp up in intensity."
